Steve Nash will miss at least one more week as he recovers from a leg fracture and he suffered against the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com.
Nash is likely eager to reunite with his former head coach, Mike D'Antoni, for whom he played while a member of the Phoenix Suns. He had his most prolific years as a professional during those seasons under the Lakers' new head coach, winning back-to-back MVP awards in 2005 and 2006.
The reunion will have to be put on hold for at least another week when Nash will be reevaluated by the Lakers medical staff. He is will be a critical component to the offense due to his familiarity with the system and his style of play and court vision. Given the severity of the injury, it's possible that Nash could miss even more time following the upcoming tests.
In Nash's absence, Steve Blake will draw the starts when healthy, and Darius Morris and Chris Duhon will see increased roles.
