The NBA regular season is quickly approaching and now Laker fans in Southern California will be able to watch the games as Charter cable and Time Warner Cable Sports reached an agreement to add Time Warner SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes to Charter's channel lineup.
Time Warner SportsNet is the local television home for the Lakers, LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Sparks. Charter is hoping to have the networks added to its lineup on or before October 31 which is also the date of the Lakers first regular season game scheduled to be broadcast on the networks. Both networks will be available in standard and high definition.
The agreement comes after weeks of negotiations. It also relieves any concern that many Laker fans would not be able to watch games on television this season. The agreement with Charter will make Time Warner SportsNet widely available in Southern California although Time Warner Cable Sports and DirecTV are yet to reach an agreement.
In addition to live games, the networks also offer other sports programming including pre-game and post-game shows as well other original team-specific programming.
