The Los Angeles Lakers are seeking their first win of the preseason and will try to get their first taste of victory on Saturday night as they take on the Utah Jazz at Staples Center at 7:30 p.m. PT.
Newly-acquired big man Dwight Howard will miss the contest as he continues to recover from back surgery that caused him to miss time late last season. Kobe Bryant is dealing with a shoulder ailment that caused him to be limited in practice, but he should be good to suit up on Saturday. Officially, he's listed as questionable on the injury report.
Starting in place of Howard will be rookie second round pick Robert Sacre out of Gonzaga University, who is vying for the primary backup role at center. Steve Nash, Bryant, Pau Gasol and Metta World Peace round out the Lakers' probable starters vs. Utah.
Key reserve Jordan Hill will be out of the contest with a herniated disc. The Lakers split the season series, 2-2 last season against the Jazz.
the game will be broadcast exclusively on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes.
