After an ugly first half at Staples Center on Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers trail the Golden State Warriors 39-35 at halftime. The Lakers shot just 36.6% (15 for 41) from the field in the first half and committed 12 turnovers.
Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 11 rebounds and scored six points in the opening half, though he made just three of nine field goal attempts. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 13 points in the first half. Andrew Bynum grabbed seven rebounds for the Lakers, who outrebounded Golden State 29-22.
Troy Murphy hit a three-pointer midway through the second quarter, the only one made by the Lakers in eight attempts. The three by Murphy snapped a streak of 22 consecutive misses from three-point land by the team.
Nate Robinson scored nine points off the bench to lead the Warriors and Monta Ellis added eight points. David Lee grabbed nine rebounds to go with his four points in the opening half.
The Lakers have beaten the Warriors six straight times at Staples Center.
