The Los Angeles Lakers got a rare taste of road success on Sunday with their 106-101 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center. It was just their second road win in nine tries on the season, and they will have to improve upon that if they want to play in the postseason. The Lakers begin their Grammy road trip this week, opening the six-game trek on Friday against the Denver Nuggets.
Here is a look at the schedule for the week for the purple and gold.
Tuesday - Charlotte Bobcats at Lakers, 7:30 p.m. (Fox Sports West): The Lakers return home for one final home game before hitting the road, and it happens to be against one of the worst teams in the league in the 3-18 Bobcats. The only problem is that the Lakers have lost eight of their last 11 games against Charlotte, including three home losses in their last five meetings at Staples Center.
Friday - Lakers at Denver Nuggets, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN, KCAL): Luckily for the Lakers they get two days off to prepare for Denver, but look what good that did for them in Milwaukee on Saturday. Kobe Bryant made six of 28 shots on January 1 in one of the worst games of his career. Since that game, Kobe has averaged 32.7 points per game and shot 47.4% from the field, with 10 30-point games in 15 tries.
Saturday - Lakers at Utah Jazz, 6 p.m. (KCAL): The Lakers return to the site of their first road win of the season, a 90-87 overtime triumph on January 11.
