Los Angeles Lakers Week In Preview: Home Schedule Bodes Well For L.A.

The Los Angeles Lakers opened their season with six games in eight days, the fastest team in the league to six games. The Lakers split their first six games, and look to put more wins on the board heading into their second week of the season, which features three home games. Here's an overview of the Lakers' upcoming schedule.

Tuesday, January 3 - Houston Rockets at Lakers (7:30 p.m. PST, Fox Sports West): the Lakers have beaten Houston in eight of their last 10 meetings.

Thursday, January 5 - Lakers at Portland Trail Blazers (7:30 p.m. PST, TNT and KCAL): The Lakers got the monkey of their back with a win last season at the Rose Garden, snapping a nine-game losing streak in Portland. But the Lakers have still lost 16 of their last 20 road games against the Blazers.

Friday, January 6 - Golden State Warriors at Lakers (7:30 p.m. PST, Fox Sports West): The Lakers have beaten the Warriors in 21 of their last 24 meetings overall, and are 15-1 in their last 16 home games against Golden State.

Sunday, January 8 - Memphis Grizzlies at Lakers (6:30 p.m. PST, Fox Sports West): After Sunday the Lakers will have played seven of their 10 games at home.
