Lakers Beat Clippers 96-91 In Battle For Los Angeles

Kobe Bryant didn't have his greatest performance tonight for the Los Angeles Lakers. He had 24 points on 17 shots, and also had seven points and six assists, but hemorrhaged the ball with seven turnovers. Bryant needed other good performances from his teammates, and he got them.

Pau Gasol lodged a double-double with 23 points on 13 shots and 10 rebounds. Andrew Bynum had 19 points, six rebounds and four blocks (including a crucial basket-block sequence in the final minute). Metta World Peace had seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block, Derek Fisher hit three threes, and Andrew Goudelock had 14 points.

In his first action back from a hamstring injury he suffered against these same Lakers, Chris Paul logged 12 assists. Blake Griffin provided 26 points and nine assists. Caron Butler and Mo Williams had 16 points each.
