2011 NBA Playoffs, Lakers Vs. Mavericks: Will Ron Artest Be Suspended For Game 2 Elbow?

Prospects are looking bad enough for the Lakers, now that they face an 0-2 deficit heading to Dallas for two games in their second-round NBA playoff matchup with the Mavericks. Now, they might be without Ron Artest, who was ejected for receiving his second technical foul in the final minute of Game 2. Artest delivered an elbow to the head of Jose Barea of the Mavericks with 24.4 seconds remaining in Dallas's win over the Lakers.

Artest had 11 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots in Game 2. It is unknown whether he will be suspended for Game 3 Friday night in Dallas, but it seems like he might. Phil Jackson wasn't happy with the play late in the game by Artest, telling Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register that the play was ""Uncalled for. There's a good chance he'll be suspended. I hope not."
