Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 37 points, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 112-104 home win over their co-tenants at Staples Center, the Los Angeles Clippers, on Friday night. It was the sixth straight win for the Lakers, who are 14-1 since the All-Star break. The Lakers won the season series with the Clippers, and have won eight straight games as the home team against the Clippers.
Pau Gasol scored 26 points tonight, which means $52,000 will be donated to the relief efforts in Japan. Gasol pledged to donate $1,000 per point scored tonight, and that figure was matched by Lakers' great Magic Johnson as well. Andrew Bynum added 11 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks in his first game back from suspension.
Mo Williams led the Clippers with 30 points, including four three-pointers. Blake Griffin had 22 points and six rebounds for the Clippers, who fell to 8-28 on the road this season. The Clippers host Toronto tomorrow night at Staples Center. The Lakers next game is Sunday night, also at Staples Center, against New Orleans.
