Tommy Hilfiger Redesigns Lakers Uniforms For ESPN

The Los Angeles Lakers have a fairly unique uniform. While most teams wear white at home, the Lakers don gold uniforms, except on Sundays and major holidays when the white unfiroms are chosen. There have been slight adjustments over the years (outside of the length of the shorts, of course), but for the most part the Lakers have had a similar look for the past 40 years or so.

That would all change, if it was up to designer Tommy Hilfiger. In the latest issue of ESPN The Magazine, Hilfiger redesigned the uniforms of several teams, including that of the Lakers. Here is his view of the new Laker style:

"We love the authentic signal flags that sailors use to communicate with each other on the sea, and the one we liked the best we infused into the uniform," Hilfiger told Carmen Renee Thompson of ESPN. The Lakers will wear their more traditional gold and purple uniforms tonight at Staples Center as they face the Phoenix Suns.
