Even If Lakers Struggle, Ron Artest Makes Things Interesting

It has been a trying season for Ron Artest this year on the Los Angeles Lakers. He is averaging career lows in points, rebounds, assists, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage (an execrable 62.5% this season). He is playing fewer minutes than ever (28.3 per game), but all his per-36 minute stats are career lows, too. That hasn't stopped Ron from being Ron, though. Yesterday Artest put on YouTube he and T-Pain rapping "Champions" from Ron Artest Music:

Whatever helps Ron be Ron is fine by me. Even if the Lakers are struggling (relative to their own expectations, of course; it's hard to truly panic with a 38-18 record, after all), at least Artest will make things entertaining. Whether it is releasing an audibly horrific video, or insisting on spraying Lamar Odom's new unisex perfume on television reporter John Ireland after Monday's 20-point loss in Charlotte, Artest always keeps people on their toes. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
