The Los Angeles Lakers have shown interest in getting Chris Paul and Dwight Howard. Is it possible they can get both?
Chris Broussard of ESPN believes so.
Hoping to pull off a pair of blockbuster moves that would rock the NBA, the Lakers are willing to trade anyone on their roster outside of Kobe Bryant to bring Howard and Paul to Los Angeles, two sources said.
Whether the Lakers are able to make it happen remains to be seen, but with stars Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom on the roster, they have the talent and the financial capacity to make the trades work.
CP3, Superman and Kobe Bryant? Everyone go crazy go nuts!
It's highly unlikely that the Lakers will be able to land both of these superstars unless they're ready to gut their current basketball team. Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom would almost all have to be traded away, decimating this team's once vaunted frontline. It would leave the Lakers with almost no actual depth and leave them with a relatively small bench to rely on.
Could Los Angeles win with their version of the Big Three? Could they put the contracts together to make it work? Not likely, but let's dream about how it would actually work. This team would have three great stars who are strong defensively and solid fundamentally. There's a lot for Lakers fans to like about this somewhat outlandish scenario.
