Kobe And Shaq Take Shots At Each Other. Again.

Don't know if you've heard this or not, but Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal are still not best friends forever. Oh the horror.

Joe Brescia of the New York Times has more in an interview he did with Shaq. (HT The Score)

Q. Kobe Bryant reportedly criticized you when he was in Italy recently. "I like players who workout," Bryant said, according to a post on Sportando. "I use to do that 6, 7 hours per day. I cannot stand players who practice for 30 minutes. I need to say something to them." Any response?

A. No. I don’t need to work out. My numbers speak for itself. My three Finals M.V.P.s speaks for itself.

We're at the point in the Shaq-Kobe marriage where the two clearly dislike each other and always will, but they're holding it together for the kids. The kids!

I think we're past the point where we'll ever expect a beautiful reconciliation between the two. They had their differences, they never meshed well, but they still won three titles in spite of their differences. That's sometimes the way it goes in sports. You get as far as you can before the whole discord thing takes its toll.

Would it be nice if the two found common ground? Yeah, I guess, but life isn't like a Disney movie. Not everyone ends up reconciling things unless there's a princess worth saving, and they'd probably end up fighting over who should be the one saving her. Best to leave it at that.
