Lakers Dominate Warriors, Win 107-83

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Pau Gasol scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, as the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the Golden State Warriors, 107-83, at Staples Center.

Kobe Bryant added 20 points and seven rebounds for the Lakers, who have won three in a row to begin the season for the first time since winning seven straight to commence the 2008-09 campaign. Lamar Odom chipped in with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Monta Ellis finished with 20 points for the Warriors, who had opened the season with wins over the Clippers and Rockets. Dorell Wright had 18 points and five boards.

Golden State was without the services of guard Stephen Curry (sprained ankle).

The Lakers came out of the gates on fire, as they started the game on a 14-2 run. Andris Biedrins' jumper cut the gap to six, 18-12, with over five minutes to play in the first quarter.

Los Angeles, though, ended the stanza on a 16-2 spurt. Bryant tallied eight points during the flurry, which Odom scored the final six points of for a 34-14 lead after 12 minutes.

The Warriors scored the first 11 points of the second period. Ellis' three- pointer cut the deficit to 34-25 with under eight minutes remaining. The Lakers got back on track quickly, and Gasol's two free throws made it a 56-35 game. Golden State's Charlie Bell made a three-pointer before the break.

A evenly-played third quarter resulted in LA taking an 81-64 advantage into the fourth.

The Lakers put the game away with 12 straight points in the early stages of the final frame.

Los Angeles won all four meetings with rival Golden State a year ago and is unbeaten in the previous 10 matchups in this series. The Lakers have also won 24 of the past 27 encounters with the Warriors, losers in five straight and 21 of their last 23 contests at the Lakers...Los Angeles forward Luke Walton (hamstring) missed the game...The Lakers made 23-of-30 free throws, while the Warriors went 6-of-13 from the charity stripe.
