Today is a heavy sports day, with the MLB playoffs, including a stellar pitching matchup, college football, MLS soccer, and some preseason NBA basketball. Here is the television schedule:

A pair of unranked teams face off at the Coliseum, looking to get back into the Top 25. Barry Tompkins, Petros Papadakis, and Rebecca Haarlow are on the call.

1 p.m.: ALCS, Game 2: Yankees at Rangers (TBS)

After blowing a 5-0 lead in stunning fashion last night, Texas looks to get back into the series. Phillip Hughes and Colby Lewis face off on the mound.

4:30 p.m.: NLCS, Game 1: Giants at Phillies (Fox)

This is the marquee matchup of the playoffs, with Tim Lincecum and Roy Halladay facing off in a battle of the winner of the last two NL Cy Young Awards and the likely winner of this year's award.

7:30 p.m.: Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers (Fox Sports West)

The Lakers continue their preseason with the start of a four-team shootout at Staples Center. The Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers face off in the other game today, with winner facing winner and loser facing loser Sunday. The Clippers/Jazz game will not be televised.

8:30 p.m.: Colorado Rapids at LA Galaxy (Prime Ticket, delayed)

The Galaxy continue to close in on the Supporters Shield with a game at the Home Depot Center, the broadcast of which will be delayed by an hour.
