The Los Agngeles Kings have signed 2012 fourth-round draft pick Nikolai Prokhorkin to a three-year, entry level contract on Thursday, writes Jewels From The Crown.
First reported by CapGeek, the deal is reportedly worth $662,500 as an NHL player and $65,000 if he spends his time in the AHL, according to the Russian website Championat. There is also a $87,500 bonus per year attached to the contract.
Prokhorkin, a 19-year-old prospect, is apparently interested in taking the AHL route after he was also taken by the London Knights of the OHL.
The forward has played with CSKA Moscow for the past few seasons and was taken 121st overall in the 2012 NHL draft. The Russian appeared in 15 games with CSKA Moscow this past year, scoring one goal and recording one assist on the season. He also has four games of playoff experience in the Kontinental Hockey League, but spent much of the last few seasons in the junior leagues.
