Kings Vs. Devils, Stanley Cup Finals 2012 Game 3: L.A. Leads 2-0 After Two Periods

The L.A. Kings are in full control through two periods of play against the New Jersey Devils in game three at the Staples Center.

The Kings broke the scoreless tie five minutes into the second period when Alec Martinez scored after he and Dwight King rebounded several shots off of New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur. It was Martinez's first goal of the postseason, meaning Rob Scuderi and Simon Gagne are the only Kings that have not yet scored for the Kings in the postseason. Martinez' goal came moments after an impressive save by Kings goalie Jonathan Quick.

Anze Kopitar scored the Kings' second goal on a snapshot with 4:53 remaining in the second period, Dustin Brown and Justin Williams were credited with assists on the play.

The Kings defense has held up against New Jersey's power plays; the Devils have not attempted a shot on their six power play opportunities.
