The Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils are a third of the way through Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday evening. The Kings have jumped out to an early lead as they look to continue their unprecedented streak of winning consecutive playoff games on the road. After the first period, the Kings lead by a score of 1-0.
The Kings ran into some trouble early as they were hit with two cross-checking penalties within the first 10 minutes of the game. However, the Kings continued to excel at the penalty kill, as they denied the Devils even a single shot on goal during the New Jersey power play.
At 7:49, Drew Doughty hit his third goal of the postseason as he deked and placed the puck perfectly past Martin Brodeur to put the Kings on the board.
