Devils Vs. Kings, Stanley Cup Finals 2012 Game 1: Kings Lead 1-0

The Los Angeles Kings are up 1-0 on the New Jersey Devils after one period of the first game in the Stanley Cup Finals in New Jersey. The goal came midway through the first period, though it's been an evenly matched game so far. The Kings hope to hold on and continue their road unbeaten streak in the playoffs.

The Kings' goal came ten minutes into the period, when Jordan Nolan smashed Andy Greene against the boards behind the net. Nolan scooped up the resulting loose puck and passed it in front of goal to Colin Fraser who scored low from sixteen feet out.

The game has been even so far, with both teams taking a while to get their first shot on goal but finishing with five a piece. They're also even with 15 hits a piece. the big advantage for the Kings has been face-offs where they are 12-5 in their favor.
