Stanley Cup Finals 2012: Devils To Face Kings Following Victory Over Rangers

The Los Angeles Kings will face the New Jersey Devils next week for the Stanley Cup Finals. The Devils held a 3-2 series lead over the Rangers on Friday night, and the club clinched a trip to the league championship with an overtime goal from Adam Henrique just 1:03 into the period.

The Devils took an early 2-0 lead in the first period, but a resilient Rangers team battled back for two goals of their own in the second. The two teams battled back and forth in the third period, but neither could light the lamp in the final 20 minutes of play.

Following a wild and hectic meeting in front of the net it was Henrique who found himself in the right place at the right time. The puck squibbed away from Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist in the crease and found Henrique's stick, who pushed the puck into the back of the net for the 3-2 victory.

A wild crowd erupted in New Jersey, and they cheered, "We want the cup!" as the team took center ice to celebrate along with them.

The Kings and Devils will first meet in the Stanley Cup Finals beginning Wednesday night.
