Jeff Carter scored two goals in the second period, giving the Los Angeles Kings a 3-0 lead over the Phoenix Coyotes after the second period of Game 2 of the NHL Western Conference Finals at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

The Kings lead the best-of-seven series 1-0 and are 20 minutes away from a commanding 2-0 lead and their ninth consecutive road playoff victory, dating back to last season.

Carter lit the lamp at 4:47 of the second period, assisted by Dustin Penner and Mike Richards. Carter's goal was one of 17 shots during the second period for the Kings, compared to eight for Phoenix.
