Daniel Sedin Injured, Out For Kings Vs. Canucks, Game 1

The Vancouver Canucks could be without one of their main playmakers tonight when they take the ice against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of their Western Conference Playoff series. Daniel Sedin has been reported to be out of tonight's game by his head coach.

Sedin's overall production is down from last season, when he put up 104 points. This year he has only 30 goals and 37 assists in 72 appearances (compared to last season when he had 41 goals and 63 assists in 82 appearances). Still, it'd be tough to discount the veteran from putting up monster playoff numbers.

The Canucks have had success without Sedin, winning eight of nine games when he isn't in the lineup. Still, these are the playoffs, and any loss can hurt.

SB Nation Los Angeles will be covering the Kings vs. Canucks series fully on its storystream. To talk about the impact Sedin's injury has on the game with Kings fans, go to Jewels From the Crown. For more on Sedin's injury and the playoff run from Vancouver fans, check in with Nucks Misconduct.
