The Los Angeles Kings faced the Vancouver Canucks in British Columbia but couldn't pull off the victory.
Roberto Luongo came up with 38 saves to help shut the Kings down. Manny Malhotra scored the game's only goal early on and Luongo did the rest despite Vancouver managing only 13 less shots. The Canucks were without Daniel Sedin, who was out for the game with a concussion. Malhotra put up his first goal in nearly a month.
Vancouver moved up to 46-21-9 on the season, moving to second in the Western Conference. Los Angeles fell to 37-27-12 overall, and are barely holding onto the eighth seed. Los Angeles is in the midst of a four game road trip, and still have to play Calgary, Edmonton and Minnesota.
