The Los Angeles Kings have had a bad start to their Grammy road trip. The Kings lost for the second time in as many nights, dropping a 2-1 contest to the Carolina Hurricanes at RBC Center on Saturday night. Cam Ward saved 24 of 25 shots for the win for the Hurricanes.

Jeff Skinner scored the game-winner for Carolina at 3:02 of the third period. It was the 15th goal of the season for Skinner, assisted by Jussi Jokinen and Drayson Bowman. Skinner beat Jonathan Bernier, making his first start in goal for the Kings since January 9, a span of 25 days.

Bernier saved 20 of 22 shots in the loss.

Anze Kopitar opened the scoring for the Kings, scoring his team-leading 16th goal at 4:58 of the first period, assisted by Justin Williams and Jack Johnson. The Kings have scored one goal in two games to begin their six-game, 10-day road trip.
