The Los Angeles Kings lost their third straight game tonight in Glendale, Arizona to the Phoenix Coyotes 4-5 in a shootout. Anze Kopitar and the Kings skates tried to fight off the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena, but while LA was able to solve it's goalscoring woes, it came at a price. A lack of defense let Phoenix back into the game where they were able to win in overtime.
The Kings scored the first three goals of the game, and led 3-0 after the first period. Drew Doughty got the first goal with a tip in six minutes into the game. Dustin Brown also got one from close range, while Andrei Loktionov joined Justin Williams in scoring from near the face-off circle.
Unfortunately Phoenix was able to meet the Kings tit for tat, and forced things into overtime near the end of the third period. Jack Johnson had a chance to extend the game in the overtime shootout, but missed wide.
The Kings came into tonight's game worst in scoring goals in the entire league. Unfortunately the Coyotes came alive tonight as well. The Kings do pick up a point, moving them into 8th place in the West.
