Kings Vs. Flames Final Score: Punchless Los Angeles Offense Leads To 1-0 Home Loss

The Los Angeles Kings hosted the Calgary Flames at the Staples Center on Saturday night, in hopes of regaining some of the ground they've lost in the Pacific Division while they've been struggling and the Phoenix Coyotes have been going streaking. Although neither the Kings nor the Flames had much luck on offense Saturday, the Flames picked up the 1-0 win despite only taking 18 shots on goal, compared to 28 by Los Angeles. Perhaps most insulting of all, the Flames jump into the eighth slot in the Conference with the win, despite being tied with the Kings at 65 points each.

Not even the snazzy purple-and-gold alternate unis could pump some life into the anemic Los Angeles offense. They couldn't get a single shot past Miikka Kiprusoff. The Kings have lost back-to-back home games and are now 4-5-1 over their last 10.

The only goal in the game came at 4:03 of the third period, when Mike Cammalleri netted his 14th goal of the season, with an assist from Tom Kostopoulos. Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick stopped the other 17 shots that came his way throughout the game.

The Kings are now solidly in third place in the Pacific, two points behind the Coyotes and four points behind the first-place San Jose Sharks
