Kings Vs. Islanders Final Score: Mark Streit Overtime Goal Gives New York 2-1 Win

Defenseman and team captain Mark Streit flicked a backhand shot past Jonathan Quick at 1:36 of the extra period, giving the New York Islanders a 2-1 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings. It was the fourth loss in five games for the Kings on their current road trip.

Evgeni Nabokov saved 34 of 35 shots for New York in the win. The Kings have scored six goals in the firs five games of their six-game road trip.

Michael Grabner opened the scoring for the Islanders with his 15th goal of the season at 6:52 of the first period, assisted by Mark Eaton and Kyle Okposo. The Kings outshot New York 12-8 in the first period but trailed 1-0 after 20 minutes.

The Kings had even more of an advantage in the second period, outshooting the Islanders 12-4, and it paid off at 5:20 of the second period with Dustin Brown's 14th goal of the season, assisted by Rob Scuderi and Drew Doughty.

The Kings outshot the Islanders 35-25 and won 37 of 57 (64.9%) faceoffs, but couldn't score more than the one goal. Los Angeles concludes their six-game road trip Sunday night against the Dallas Stars.
