It's been a great year so far for Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick thus far in the 2011-12 season, but just got a little bit better with the announcement that he has been named to the All-Star team for the first time in his career.
Quick, the fourth year goalie out of Milford, CT, is the fourth Kings goaltender to make an All-Star team, but will be the first to do so since way back in 1981. Terry Sawchuk, Rogie Vachon, and Mario Lessard were the others. He currently leads the NHL with 6 shutouts, ranks fourth in goals against average (1.93), and fifth in save percentage (.934). Needless to say, his addition to the squad was written on the wall with those stats.
The 2012 Tim Horton's NHL All-Star game will be helf on January 29 at 1 pm PT with coverage on NBC.
