2011 NHL Playoffs, Kings Vs. Sharks: Game 6 Loss Ends The Kings Season

The Los Angeles Kings season is officially over after a 4-3 OT loss to the Sharks in Game 6 of their first round Playoff series. If you can bear to watch them, you can find the highlights from this game here. It's a tough loss to swallow, and the team now has a long offseason of looking back and wondering what could have been ahead of them. According to Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times, the Kings aren't making any excuses.

"At the end of the day we weren't as good as they were," defenseman Jack Johnson said. "Whether you lose in four, five, six or seven, you still lost and it's disappointing. To go out in the first round is really disappointing, especially with our expectations."

Those expectations were pretty high for the Kings coming into this season, but their season is still over in April. The biggest disappointment in this series is that the Kings went 0-3 at home in this series, and that is something that you absolutely cannot do.

There's always next year. . .
