Kings Vs. Red Wings Final Score: Detroit Hands Los Angeles Brutal 8-2 Loss

The Los Angeles Kings visited the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. Unfortunately, by the end of the night, the Los Angeles team had given the Detroit crowd plenty to cheer about while being handed an 8-2 loss.

The Kings have been struggling as of late, while the Red Wings have been duking it out with the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues for the catbird seat in the Central Division.

The Kings actually took more shots on goal during Saturday's game, racking up 29 compared to Detroit's 27. Los Angeles goaltenders Jonathan Bernier and Jonathan Quick allowed a combined eight goals on those 27 shots, however, as no less than 14 different Red Wings players earned a point in the game. Quick picked up the loss, despite leaving the game less than halfway through the first period after stopping four shots. The Red Wings picked up two goals in the first two minutes of play and never looked back.

Davis Drewiske scored the first Kings goal in the first period, with assists from Justin Williams and Dustin Penner. Jarret Stoll scored Los Angeles' second and final goal in the second period, again with assists from Williams and Penner.
