Daymond Langkow put one past Jonathan Quick with 44 seconds remaining in overtime, giving the Phoenix Coyotes a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings Saturday night at Jobing.com Arena in Phoenix. The Kings have picked up three of a possible four points in the first two games of their brief three-game road trip.
Quick saved 30 of the 33 shots he faced, and has yet to lose in regulation this year. Quick is 6-0-2 on the season.
Anze Kopitar scored his fifth goal of the season, tops on the Kings, 6:30 into the third period to tie the game at 2-2. It was assisted by Trent Hunter and Matt Greene. Hunter was playing Saturday in place of Simon Gagne, who sat with an undisclosed injury.
Kopitar has scored at least one point in eight of his 10 games this season. Mich Richards also lit the lamp for Los Angeles, his second goal of the year, which briefly gave the Kings a 1-0 lead in the second period.
The Kings (6-2-2) end their road trip in Denver Sunday night, facing the Colorado Avalanche.
