Kings Vs. Coyotes: Jonathan Quick Nets Second Straight Shutout, Kings Win 2-0

Jonathan Quick saved 28 shots for his second straight shutout, guiding the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-0 road victory over the Phoenix Coyotes, the third straight win for the Kings. Quick became the third King goalie with 100 victories, and the quickest to achieve the feat.

Per the Fox Sports West broadcast, Quick won his 100th in his 185th career game, 43 games faster than Kelly Hrudey won 100 games for the Kings, and 45 games quicker than Rogie Vachon.

Earlier today Nicholas Cotsonika of Yahoo! Sports said Anze Kopitar might be the most underrated player in the NHL. Kings head coach Terry Murray was similarly impressed, saying of his center, "He’s such an intelligent reader of what’s going on without the puck. He’s the guy that I trust in all key situations – on PK, on 5-on-5 late in games. His game has really evolved."

Kopitar was on the ice during a power play in the second period, assisting with Mike Richards on a goal by Dustin Brown 56 seconds into the second stanza. Kopitar has points in all six games this season for the Kings. Kyle Clifford added his first goal of the season 15 minutes later.

The Kings return home to face the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.
