Kings Beat Islanders 5-1, Set Mark For Home Wins

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Anze Kopitar scored twice and added an assist to help the Los Angeles Kings take a 5-1 win and hand the New York Islanders their 10th straight loss.

Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown each had a goal and an assist while Justin Williams also lit the lamp for the Kings, who have won their past six games and improved to 8-0-0 at home this season. Jonathan Quick stopped 18 shots in the win.

Rob Schremp scored the only goal for the Islanders, who have dropped 10 straight for the first time since going 0-9-1 from December 4-23, 2008. Dwayne Roloson was tagged for all five goals on 34 shots in the loss.

Kopitar scored 1:23 in and added his second goal of the game at the 5:02 mark as his backhander beat Roloson for a 2-0 lead.

Schremp beat Quick on a wrister just 37 seconds after Kopitar's second goal to make it a 2-1 contest.

Williams' eighth goal of the season 3:15 into the second gave Los Angeles a 3-1 lead while Quick made nine saves in the middle frame.

Brown beat Roloson with a wrister on a penalty shot at the 7:46 mark of the third while Doughty lit the lamp with a power-play marker with 4:34 left to cap the scoring.

The Kings play in San Jose on Monday...The Islanders return home to face Tampa Bay on Wednesday...The Kings have taken six straight games against the Islanders...Los Angeles went 1-for-4 on the power play while New York was 0- for-5.
