Kings Activated Voynov, Then Assign Him To Manchester

Before tonight's home opener against the Atlanta Thrashers, the Los Angeles Kings have made one roster move, activating defenseman Viatcheslav Voynov and assigning him to the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL.

Voynov, the 20-year old from Chelyabinsk, Russia, was a second-round draft pick by the Kings in 2008, and has yet to play in an NHL game. Voynov scored 10 goals and dished out 19 assists last season with the Monarchs in the American Hockey League, leading the club with 79 games played and team defensemen with 134 shots on goal.
