The biggest bit of news coming out of the Los Angeles Galaxy camp this week was that forward Chad Barrett wil be unavailable for MLS Cup due to an injury suffered at practice. Barrett dislocated his right ankle in training on Thursday. Barrett had started all three of the LA Galaxy's post-season games, playing 211 total minutes.
LA Galaxy defender Todd Dunivant said that "[Barrett]'s cleat got stuck in the ground and his leg just rolled over. His foot was not where it would supposed to be." A seven year veteran, Barrett scored seven goals for the Galaxy this year and was credited with five assists.
In all competitions, Barrett scored eight goals and had six assists since coming to the Galaxy from Toronto FC in the offseason. Barrett was instrumental in the last month of the season for the Galaxy, after Robbie Keane went down with injury. It will likely be either Landon Donovan or Mike Magee joining Robbie Keane at the forward position in next Sunday's MLS Cup.
