Dodgers vs. Rockies final score: Dodgers stay hot, win 5th straight

The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their hot streak, notching their fifth straight win with a 7-1 victory against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. With the win, the Dodgers remained two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the second National League Wild Card spot.

Josh Beckett picked up the win for the Dodgers, allowing one run over six innings while striking out five. Beckett has now allowed one earned run or less in three of his last four starts. The only run he allowed on Sunday came on an Andrew Brown solo home run in the fourth inning.

The Dodgers offense provided Beckett with plenty of run support, scoring seven or more runs for the fourth time in their last five games. Matt Kemp got the scoring started with a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Luiz Cruz followed three batters later with a two-run home run of his own to extend the lead.

Los Angeles added another run in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to give Beckett more than enough breathing room. Six Dodgers relievers combined to pitch the final three innings to secure the win and the series sweep.

The Dodgers will return home on Monday to face the San Francisco Giants in the final regular season series of the season.
