As the San Francisco Giants prepare for their opening round of the playoffs, they will likely play a majority of their starters against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the final series of the regular season according to Giants beat writer Hank Schulman on Twitter.
Buster Posey is looking for his first batting title as he leads all NL hitters with a .337 average, eight percentage points higher than the Pirates' Andrew McCutchen at .329. He will certainly be seeing a lot of time this series, as well as second baseman Marco Scutaro, who is batting .402 in the month of September. There's also outfielders Hunter Pence and Angel Pagan to worry about, and third baseman Pablo Sandoval as well.
The Dodgers can not be eliminated from the postseason on Sunday, meaning it will be the Giants to knock them out if they can manage a win at Dodgers Stadium.
Aaron Harang will take on Matt Cain on Monday, while Chris Capuano faces Barry Zito on Tuesday, both at 7:10 p.m. PT. Clayton Kershaw will square off with Ryan Vogelsong in the series finale on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. PT Monday and Wednesday's games will be on Prime Ticket, while Tuesday's matchup will be on KCAL.
