The Los Angeles Dodgers have been shutout for two straight games, and look to snap out of their offensive slump on Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Manager Don Mattingly has moved Matt Kemp back to hitting third, with Adrian Gonzalez now at cleanup.
Mattingly originally had Gonzalez cleanup when he came to the Dodgers on Aug. 25, but moved Kemp there when the center fielder returned from injury on Aug. 31. Mattingly explained that he wanted to create more distance between left-handed hitters Gonzalez and Andre Ethier, batting sixth, so that opposing managers couldn't use one left-handed reliever to face both, without having to also face a pair of right-handed hitters in Kemp and Hanley Ramirez.
But the Dodgers have scored just 25 runs in their last 11 games, so Mattingly switched Kemp and Gonzalez back. Here are Wednesday's starting lineups from Chase Field in Phoenix:
