Dodgers Vs. Diamondbacks Game Preview: Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw Hope To Play Tuesday

The Los Angeles Dodgers open up a short, two-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at 6:40 p.m. PT Tuesday night, and they are hoping to do so with some of their biggest stars in the lineup.

Matt Kemp, who has missed time as a precaution as he had an MRI done on his shoulder, expects to be back for the Dodgers on Tuesday. Clayton Kershaw is also expected to return to the mound after missing his start on Sunday with a sore hip.

Kershaw is 12-9 this season with a 2.79 ERA. He went seven strong innings, giving up just one run on five hits with nine strikeouts against the Padres. Kershaw's last outing against the Diamondbacks came on Aug. 30, when he gave up two runs in six innings and took the loss.

Arizona counters with right-hander Ian Kennedy. He is 12-11 with a 4.39 ERA on the season. Kennedy went 6.1 shutout innings in his last start against the Dodgers

The Dodgers enter this series one game behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the final Wild Card spot.
