Adrian Gonzalez made a splash in his first start for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, but the real stretch run begins now for L.A.. The Dodgers send Aaron Harang to the mound Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT to try to capture the final game in a three-game set against the Miami Marlins and sweep the series.
Gonzalez's three-run homer in his first game back in the National League following yesterday's trade between the Dodgers and Boston Red Sox — that also sends Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto to Los Angeles — was the result the Dodgers were likely looking for after engineering the trade. The Dodgers stand two games back of the San Francisco Giants in the National League West standings, with less than 40 games to go in the season.
The reinvigorated Dodgers offense will find Marlins starter Mark Buehrle on the mound, who looks to help Miami salvage the final game of the three-game set.
