Chad Billingsley Injury: Pitcher Sent To DL With Right Elbow Pain

The Los Angeles Dodgers have sent pitcher Chad Billingsley to the disabled list with pain in his right elbow. Billingsley left during the fourth inning of Friday's game against the Miami Marlins with his team up 6-3 (a game the Dodgers would win 11-4).

An MRI on the elbow last night showed inflammation. Today, Dodgers' general manager Ned Coletti said, "You can't look at our rotation and tell me we don't need Josh Beckett." Beckett is set to make his first start for the Dodgers on Monday.

The injury could be of some concern for Dodgers fans, as this Billingsley hit the DL in mid-July with similar problems. Billingsley is 10-9 with a 3.55 ERA so far this season. In 149.2 innings pitched, he has struck out 128 batters while walking just 45.
