The Los Angeles Dodgers are mulling over placing Chad Billingsley on the disabled list to make room for newly acquired Josh Beckett and Nick Punto. The 28-year-old right-hander left his start against the Miami Marlins after just 3 1/3 innings with pain in his right elbow. General manager Ned Colletti mentioned in the press conference to announce the blockbuster nine-player deal with the Boston Red Sox that Billingsley may be missing extended time.
SB Nation's Eric Stephens was at the press conference and reported this via his twitter account:
Dodgers need to make two roster moves to activate Punto & Beckett, so Billingsley decision will be made before tonight's game
