The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a trade with the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, sending Allen Webster, Rubby de la Rosa, James Loney, Jerry Sands and Ivan DeJesus, Jr. to Boston in exchange for Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, Josh Beckett and Nick Punto. It's a blockbuster trade, and players around the league are reacting.
Matt Kemp, Dodgers outfielder, simply seemed stunned:
Adrian Gonzales and Shane Victorino both seemed less stunned and more excited:
Excited to get back to Cali and be a part of Dodgertown!— Adrian Gonzalez (@adriangon28) August 25, 2012
The Dodgers sent a plane for the players almost as soon as the trade was official, and Gonzales is expected in the lineup for Saturday night. Nick Punto may have to wait before playing, but in the meantime he's thrilled with the treatment:
With Los Angeles bolstering their roster and Boston cleaning house, it seems like positive reactions to the trade abound.
