The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly sent an airplane to Boston to pick up Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez and Nick Punto. After the deal broke on Friday there were still a few final details to be hammered out. As Saturday afternoon arrives, it is looking more and more likely that this blockbuster trade is just about official.

Assuming everything does indeed go final, this trade is a franchise-altering one for both the Dodgers and Red Sox. L.A. acquires a couple of proven veterans (and also takes on a reported $250 million in salary) while Boston essentially wipes the slate clean to begin the rebuilding process.
