Jerry Hairston Jr. Injury Update: Hip Test Shows 'No Glaring Tear'

According to a report for Los Angeles Times' Jim Peltz, tests on Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Jerry Hairston Jr.'s sore left hip showed 'no glaring tear, nothing major' and that Hairston is 'feeling a lot better' in his road back from the disabled list.

The 36-year old Hairston hit the 15-day DL on Monday after his hip problems he's been dealing with for weeks now got enflamed very quickly, though the test results were 'definitely encouraging' according to team trainer Sue Falsone. Hairston underwent an MRI on Wednesday.

As long as he avoids setbacks, Hairston should be able to return to baseball activities in just a few days, but won't be able to come off the disabled list until August 27.

Hairston is batting .273 with a .342 OBP in 78 games for the Dodgers this season, along with four home runs and 26 RBI.
