Dodgers Vs. Pirates Game Preview: Chad Billingsley Looks For 5th Straight Win

Chad Billingsley has done many things in his career, but winning five starts in a row isn't one of them. Tonight, Billingsley takes the mound against the still-surprising Pittsburgh Pirates looking for that elusive fifth straight win. History is on Billingsley's side as the Dodgers have beaten the Pirates seven-straight times dating back to last season. Even more encouraging, LA is in the seemingly comfortable confines of PNC Park, where they have gone 29-13 all time.

The Dodgers captured the opening game of the series 5-4 on Monday night, behind a home run and three runs batted in from Shane Victorino.

Opposing Billingsley will be right-hander Kevin Correia. In his last nine starts, Correia is 7-0 despite a 4.56 ERA. Currently the Bucs are five-games back from Cincinnati in the Central; however, they are tied with Atlanta for the two Wild Card spots.

The Dodgers will need to Billingsley to bring his best as they continue to battle the San Fransisco Giants for the NL West crown. LA beat the Bucs 5-4 on Monday night, and with a little help from the Washington Nationals pummeling the Giants 14-2, SF and LA are now tied atop the division.

Game time is 4:05 p.m. PDT and will be televised locally on KCAL.
