Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly originally had Juan Uribe in his starting lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds, but the third baseman has been scratched due to his right ankle sprain suffered in last night's game.
Uribe suffered the ankle injury while running the bases in the second inning, and later exited the game after the fifth inning. After the game, Uribe had ice on his ankle and was noticeably limping after Monday's game.
Mattingly wrote the lineup earlier Tuesday before Uribe arrived at the ballpark.
"I thought he would be ready to roll, but he was still sore."
Uribe had x-rays on his ankle which were negative. He might be able to pinch hit during Tuesday's game. The third baseman is hitting just .200/.259/.280 this season and is an 0-for-22 slump.
Here is the revised Dodgers lineup, with Luis Cruz at third base in place of Uribe:
Gordon SS
Ellis C
Abreu LF
Rivera RF
Kennedy 2B
Loney 1B
Cruz 3B
Gwynn CF
Capuano P
