Dodgers Vs. Cardinals Starting Lineups: A.J. Ellis Sits For Third Time In Five Games

The Los Angeles Dodgers look for their sixth straight win on Tuesday night as they face the St. Louis Cardinals in the second game of a four-game series at Busch Stadium. The Dodgers will look to do so without catcher A.J. Ellis, who is out of the lineup for the third time in five games.

Ellis sat in Friday's series opener in New York, then sat on Saturday with left knee inflammation. However, an MRI exam showed no serious damage and Ellis caught the next two games. Matt Treanor starts at catcher for the Dodgers on Tuesday.

In his first year as a starter, the 31-year old Ellis has proved quite durable, tied for fifth in the major leagues with 75 starts behind the plate. In the batters box Ellis has been an asset as well, hitting .278/.392/.403, ranking second on the team in on-base percentage behind Matt Kemp.
