Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw Dealing With Plantar Fasciitis

Although it hasn't been causing him much of a problem on the mound, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick in reporting that Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw has been dealing with some plantar fasciitis in his foot, though shouldn't cause him to miss any time as it stands right now.

Skipper Don Mattingly noted that it's been going on for about a week, and really started to bother him on Monday after taking an awkward step on first base.

"It's a little plantar fasciitis, Mattingly said. He took a funny step and just felt it. He says he doesn't feel it at all [while pitching, only when running. They're trying different tape and things at night to help it go away," Mattingly said.

Catching it early is certainly a good thing for Kershaw and the Dodgers as it can be dealt with easier by the training staff and cause less problems in the long run. Hopefully it won't be much of an issue.
