2012 MLB Mock Draft: Dodgers Select Pitcher Ty Hensley In First Round

The Los Angeles Dodgers have multiple areas of need to address at this week's MLB Draft, but most have them linked to starting pitching in the first round. According to Keith Law of ESPN, the Dodgers will take right handed pitcher Ty Hensley with the No. 18 overall pick.

Here is Law ($) on the pick:

Ty Hensley, RHP, Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe H.S.
I'm suddenly not hearing much else here. Hensley has size, arm strength and projection, but his command is below that of the other top prep arms.

The general consensus with Hensley is that he has one of the higher upsides of any pitcher available in 2012, but he will need a lot of refinement with his mechanics and delivery if he hopes to have much of a career. A team willing to be patient with him could strike gold down the line, but Hensley's bust potential seems to be pretty high.
